Description

Two houses, numbers 7 and 8 Salmon Parade, were built in the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed of irregular Flemish-bond brick, with stone stepped voussoirs and cills, and have a pantile roof topped with a brick ridge stack on the party wall. The houses follow a double-depth plan. Number 7 is a two-window range, while number 8 is a single-window range. Number 7 features 3/6-pane sash windows on the second floor, a full-height tripartite sash window, a full-width balcony with an elaborate cast-iron rail decorated with palmettes to the first floor, and an 8/8-pane sash window with a door consisting of six reeded panels to the left of the ground floor. Number 8, to the right, has 2/2-pane sashes to the upper floors and a horned 6/2-pane sash window on the ground floor, alongside a 20th-century six-panel door on the right. The interiors were not inspected.
