Description
The Tapestry and Silver Workshops is a house with a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from local liar stone ashlar in two colors and features a Welsh slate roof with a large overhang on the central front gable, along with brick chimney stacks. The building is three stories tall and has a single bay. It includes a plinth, a central slightly projecting gable, string and band courses, and an eaves band course. There are flanking projections with doors in plain openings that have keystoned flat heads; the left door is a 20th-century glazed design, while the right is a four-panel 19th-century door, both situated under plain fan-lights. The central window is a three-light elliptical arched window. On the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window with a plain flat head, and on the second floor, a 12-pane sash window is set in a seal-circular arched opening within a slightly raised gablet. The interior has not been seen. This building serves as a good companion piece to the former mason's house, Pottery Plus, located next door to the east.
