Description
The entrance gates and return railings at the western corner of Cash's Park were built in the 19th century and are made of cast iron. The structure features massive gate piers that are approximately 300 millimeters square at the base and stand 2.5 meters high. These piers have a plinth, chamfered stalks with run-out stops, and moulded ornamental heads topped with ball finials. The entrance includes double gates leading to the road, which have braced middle rails and fleur-de-lys tops, along with a single matching side gate. The railings are set on a brick and stone base wall that is about 2 meters high and 12 meters long. This feature is an important element in the street scene.
