Description
The Dolphin Inn is an inn with an early 19th-century front that conceals an older building. It features a brick facade in English garden wall bond, while the rest is made of lias stone rubble, all of which is colourwashed. The roof is clay pantiled and hipped at the east end, with a plain gable at the west. There are brick chimney stacks at both ends. The inn is two storeys high and has three bays. It has sash windows with 16 panes in plain openings, topped with gauged brick flat heads. The central doorway is semi-circular arched and contains a pair of part-glazed doors from the 20th century. The Dolphin Inn was first mentioned in 1778.
