PITMINSTER CP DUDDLESTONE Duddlestone Farmhouse

Farmhouse, subsequently divided into 2 dwellings. C16, altered C17 and late C20. Roughcast and slobbered rubble, slate roof overhanging eaves, brick stacks gable ends, rebuilt stack to right of cross passage. Plan: not clear without internal inspection. Long range lying east-west, possibly 3-cell and cross passage with stair turret left beside cross passage doorway, partially masked by 2 cell single storey north-west wing with outshut, another wing in south-west corner. North front: end bay left of stairturret masked by hipped slate roofed wing, full height gabled stair turret with two 2-light steeply chamfered wooden mullioned windows, first floor right two 3-light ovolo moulded mullioned windows with similar ground floor right, original entrance beside stair turret, good moulded door frame with stops, inserted plank door with rustic thatched porch between first and second bays right. South front refenestrated C20 .Interior not seen apart from north-east wing which contains frayed partition with brick nogging and tie beam roof.
