Description

This gateway, located 30 metres north of The Old Rectory, dates from the 19th century. It features ham stone piers and wooden gates, with square piers that have chamfered plinths and castellated, gabled tops above plain shafts. The gateway includes a 20th-century vertical rail timber gate and has curved side sweep walls made of lias stone, topped with chamfered ham stone copings. It is significant for its contribution to the setting of both The Old Rectory and the village green.
