Description

War memorial. Circa 1919.

MATERIALS: Ham stone.

DESCRIPTION: a cross surmounted by a canopied crucifix, with a circlet of angels bearing shields at the top of the octagonal shaft. The cross is mounted on an octagonal base; against the south face, a stone plaque with moulded top bears the inscription: β€˜TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF THE SONS OF HIGH HAM WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR OF 1914-1918’.
