Description

The railings opposite Battleton House are from the early 19th century and are made of cast and wrought iron. They feature fleur-de-lys style heads, urn standards, and S-supports. The railings are approximately 20 meters long and separate Battleton House from the B3222 road, forming the western boundary of a garden that slopes down to the River Barle. At the time of the survey in June 1985, the southernmost section of the railing was detached and being used as a lean-to gate.
