Description
The Boot is a semi-detached cottage that features a late 19th-century refronting of an earlier dwelling. The upper storey is tile-hung with a bell-mouth at the string course, while the ground floor is faced with quarry tiles and has a cement plinth. The cottage has a thatched roof that is hipped to the left and includes a large external stack at the rear. The layout likely consists of three cells and a cross passage, adjoining a property to the right that is not of special interest. The building stands two storeys tall with a facade of one bay on the left and two bays on the right. All windows are 19th-century casements featuring a single horizontal glazing bar, with two-light windows in the outer bays. The entrance has a half-glazed wooden door from the late 20th century, accompanied by two low rubble retaining walls with cement coping that project about one meter. There is evidence that a sign board was displayed above the entrance until recently, and the left return has a similar facing but is unlit. The interior has not been seen.
