Description
The Old Vicarage, now a house, dates from the late 18th century and is believed to be built on earlier foundations. It is constructed of coursed rubble with rusticated quoins, a first-floor band, and features three medallions at the attic level. The roof is covered with Bridgwater patent triple-Roman tiles, while the catslide rear slope has pantiles and the verges are coped. There are brick stacks on projecting chimney-breasts. The building has a symmetrical frontage, is two storeys high with an attic, and consists of three bays with sash windows that have glazing bars. The central window on the first floor has a semi-circular head. The central door opening also has a semi-circular head and features a half-glazed door with a rendered doorcase topped by an open dentilled pediment on pilasters. To the right, there is an outshut. Tall flanking walls made of rubble with pantiled cappings enclose a large forecourt area. The interior retains original features, including a staircase.
