Description

The former farmhouse at Burcott House Farm, now divided into two cottages, dates from the 17th century with 19th century and some 20th century alterations. It is constructed from rubble and roughcast, featuring pantile and triple-Roman tile roofs with coped verges, and has one rendered and two tall brick stacks. The building is in two sections: the left side is a single storey with an attic, containing two 20th century casements and a door. The right side is a gabled wing with two storeys and an attic, featuring two bays and two-light moulded stone mullioned windows with stopped labels, a single light opening in a dressed stone surround in the attic, a 20th century metal casement, and a 20th century door on the ground floor. The rear has some early 19th century casements, and there is a door opening with a tent canopy hood. Inside the right half, there is a fireplace with a massive moulded dressed stone surround.
