Description

A 15th-century farmhouse, altered in the 17th century and with 20th-century exterior features. The farmhouse is built of rubble and has a double-Roman tile roof with coped verges and brick stacks. Originally an open hall house, it was later floored and a wing was added at a right angle to the right, creating an L-shaped plan. The house has a single storey and attic, with two bays to the left featuring two-light casement windows with leaded lights, and two and three-light casement windows to the right. The first floor has windows in gabled dormers with copings. A flat-roofed rubble porch is located in the angle between the two wings, with a plank door and strap hinges, and a 20th-century inner door. Inside, a three-bay cruck roof is present, along with a fireplace featuring a moulded surround, stone jambs, and a wooden lintol. The ground floor ceiling has large square joists.
