Description
Masonic Hall, located on the east side of The Crescent, was originally built as a Roman Catholic Church in 1812. The building features a stucco front with large Ionic pilasters that support a dentil eaves cornice. The entrance has a doorway with an architrave surround and double six-panel doors, flanked by Ionic pilasters and topped with a pediment. Wide steps lead up to the entrance. The side elevation includes four windows set on a rusticated base, with Ionic pilasters above. This building is significant as it is situated south of the terrace sections and contributes to the group value of the listed buildings in The Crescent, which includes No 14, Wall Bath Place, and the Dragon Book Shop on Corporation Street.
