Description

The Stoke Trister War Memorial is a First World War memorial, dating from around 1920. It stands approximately 1.8 meters high and features a simple stone Latin cross set on a three-stepped square base. The upper step has an inscription in black lettering that reads: "SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF/ THOSE WHO FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR 1914-1918." The middle step is inscribed with the names of the Fallen.
