Description
The Ashcott Inn is an inn that dates back to the 17th century, with some 18th century external features and a few 20th century alterations. It is constructed of colourwashed rubble and has a pantile roof with two colourwashed ridge stacks and coped verges. The building has a road frontage consisting of two bays and four bays, featuring 3-light casements with glazing bars, as well as 12 and 16-pane sash windows. There is evidence of two blocked door openings, and the principal door opening is located on the left return in a 20th century outshut. Inside, there is a broad fireplace with a cambered wooden lintel. The inn is noted for its prominent position along the roadside.
