Description
An 18th-century farmhouse with an attached range of outbuildings, situated on the south side of Bath Road in Ashcott. The farmhouse is constructed of colourwashed rubble with a triple Roman tile roof, coped verges, and two brick ridge stacks. It is two storeys high and has three bays, featuring virtually flush-mounted 12 and 16-pane sash windows with exposed sash boxes. A central door opening contains a six-panelled door, the top two panels glazed, and a flat-roofed "trellis" porch. A two-bay addition, built in the same style, extends to the right, with 12-pane sash windows on the first floor and a 20th-century casement and panelled door on the ground floor. A two-storey wing is attached at a right angle to the rear, also of colourwashed rubble with a triple Rowan tile roof, a ridge in two sections, and a brick stack. This wing has casements and a broad cambered head opening with glazing and a door. Part of the outbuildings is currently used as a butchery business.
