Description

Lockhill Hall is an early 19th-century country villa situated on Bath Road, in the parish of Ascott. The hall is constructed from coursed and squared lias rubble, with the entrance and garden fronts finished in ashlar. It features corner pilasters and pilasters between each bay, a voussoir band to the first floor, an eaves band, a hipped slate roof with wide eaves, and brick stacks. The symmetrical entrance front presents three bays over two storeys, with 12-pane sash windows, each featuring additional marginal lights. A central doorway has a semi-circular head accentuated by detached colonnettes and emphasised imposts. Within the doorway are recessed, half-glazed doors, with glazing consistent with the windows. A plain wing, stylistically similar to the main building, extends to the rear. An attached wall, incorporating a carriageway, is located to the left of the entrance frontage.
