Description
The gateway and the west and south boundary wall, located about 10 metres from Dewdney's House, date from the 18th century. They are constructed from local stone that has been cut and squared, with ashlar dressings. The wall is approximately one metre high and features shallow ashlar coping, which continues along the south boundary. At the north end of the wall, there are gate piers made of Ham stone ashlar, which have a square plan, cornice caps, necks, and large ball finials. A 20th-century gate is situated between the piers. This structure significantly enhances the setting of Dewdney's House and contributes positively to the streetscape of the small hamlet.
