Description
The Baker monument is a chest tomb located about 28 metres south of the nave of the Church of St. Catherine in Montacute. It dates from the later 18th century and is made of Ham stone. The tomb features a moulded plinth and fielded panels on each side and flank, without pilasters or a frieze. It has a moulded coping on its hipped top with rounded leading edges. The monument commemorates Mary, the wife of James Baker Junior, who died in 1775.
