Description
Quantock Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1820, with alterations made in the mid to late 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with a facing of red sandstone random rubble. The roof is hipped and covered with asbestos slate, featuring overhanging eaves and brick stacks on either side of the central bay. The building has a double pile layout with single bay wings and outbuildings at the rear. It stands two storeys high and has a layout of 1:5:1 bays. The first floor features 9-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has long 8-pane sash windows. The left wing has a shaped parapet, and the right wing has been rebuilt and heightened, with 20th-century windows inserted on the first floor. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed door, which is fronted by a 20th-century half-glazed porch on a brick plinth. The brickwork extends on the returns for approximately 250 millimetres.
