Description
The gate piers and wing walls located about 40 metres south-east of Lufton Manor are a 19th-century gateway and boundary wall. The piers are made of ham stone ashlar, while the walls are constructed from brick. The walls stand approximately one metre high and are built in Flemish bond with plain stone copings. The piers reach about 3 metres in height and feature moulded plinths, rusticated shafts, cornice-mould caps with steps, and small pineapple finials. The design includes side scrolls that extend onto the tops of the walls, enhancing the setting of Lufton Manor House within its grounds.
