Description
The granary, located about 25 metres north of Cutliffe Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with a plinth and features a steeply pitched hipped slate roof. The building is likely a single cell, with the entrance situated on the south front. The north front is unlit, while the west front faces the foldyard, and the east front overlooks the garden of Cutliffe Farmhouse. The east front has two storeys and three bays, with a central loft opening flanked by blind or blocked openings. The ground floor includes a three-light casement on the left beneath a wooden lintel, a two-light window inserted in a blocked opening at the centre, and a segmental headed opening on the right. There is also a squared headed opening on the left return. The interior has not been seen.
