Description
This barn, located 10 metres south-west of Dimmer Farmhouse, dates back to 1736. It is constructed from Cary stone coursed rubble and features a double Roman clay tile roof, which is coped at the south end and has some corrugated iron sheeting. The barn is a single storey with a later floor inserted in part and consists of four bays. On the east side, there is a projecting porch with a hipped roof, featuring full-height stable-type doors, which are matched by tall doors on the west side. There is also a further hipped projection at the south-west corner and a lean-to against the north gable. The roof has a collar truss design, with most of the original timbers still intact. This barn forms a good group value with Dimmer Farmhouse.
