Description

The road bridge over the stream at NGR ST 7237 3445 is a possibly 18th-century structure made of local stone rubble. It features three semi-circular arched tunnels beneath the road, with combined cutwaters and buttresses on the south side. The copings consist of vertical stones that alternate between long and short. Additionally, there are wide splay bank seats and revetments with copings that extend for about five meters along each side. It is thought that the bridge may have been built by the Stourhead Estate.
