Description
The coach house, located 10 metres south of Church Cottage, dates from 1871 and is built of random rubble with dressed quoins. It features a low buttress on the right and has a tile roof with a gabled front that has a ridge at right angles to the facade. The building is single storey and has a broad segmental-headed door opening framed by a block surround, which includes an emphasised keystone that serves as a datestone with raised stone letters reading "WD 1871." The entrance has paired plank doors adorned with decorative strap hinges. There is a gabled wing that projects to the right, which has a door opening with double plank doors also featuring decorative strap hinges, above which is a three-light chamfered stone mullioned window. The coach house is primarily noted for its group value and is part of the Orchardlea estate.
