Description
The former stables, located about 5 metres south-west of Halfway House, date from around 1800. They are constructed from coursed ham stone rubble and feature a Welsh slate roof with a shallow pitch, accented by stepped coped gables with finials. The building is two storeys high and has six bays. There is a loft door in the third bay on the east side, which is accessed by a flight of stone steps that does not have a handrail. The fifth and sixth bays contain 20th-century garage doors. In the north gable, there is a two-light window with vertical iron bars, set beneath a timber lintel. The interior has not been seen. This building enhances the setting of Halfway House, which may have functioned as an inn.
