Description

No. 90, Main Street, known as Hillfoot, is a detached cottage likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed primarily of ham stone ashlar, with coursed rubble to the sides and rear, and has a double Roman clay tile roof with a shallow pitch between stepped coped gables. A brick chimney stack is located at one end. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays. It features small-pane casement windows, except for a hollow-chamfered mullioned three-light window recessed without a label in the lower bay to the right. A boarded door is set within a heavy timber lintol. A low-level oval window with double trefoil Gothic tracery is found in the north gable, resembling a window at Lower Witcombe Farmhouse. The interior remains unseen.
