Description

This is an early 19th-century shop with a dwelling, located on the south side of Cornhill in Bridgwater. The building is constructed of Flemish-bond brick with a stone coping to the parapet, a deep box cornice, stepped voussoirs to the upper floors, and a cill band to the second floor. It has a double-pitched plain tile roof with 18th-century dormers at both the front and rear, and brick stacks to the gable ends. The building follows a double-depth plan and is three storeys high, with a two-window front. The second-floor windows have 3/6-pane sashes, and the first-floor windows have 6/1 sashes. A 20th-century shop front replaces the original. The interior remains unexamined. The building is included on the register for its group value.
