Description
The Chorley family monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of All Saints, approximately 3 meters east of the vestry. This mid-19th century monument is made of Ham stone with blue lias panels and is set on a brick base. It features a ledger top with a moulded cornice and plinth, and fluted Ionic pilasters that create two bays on the north and south sides, with single bays on the east and west sides. The east side has no inscriptions, while the south side is inscribed to John Chorley and his wife, Mary. The north side is dedicated to their son John, who predeceased them in 1847.
