Description
The aqueduct, built around 1828 by James Green, once carried the Grand Western Canal over the driveway to Nynehead Court, which is now abandoned. It is constructed from ashlar green sandstone and features a cast iron trough, with squared and coursed stone used for the soffit. The structure has a single arch span and includes quadrant wings with square pilasters and ramped down abutments. The arch is segmental headed and integrates into imposts, with pilasters that have recessed panels. There is a string course entablature, and the parapet on the east side is partly demolished and overgrown with ivy, while the west front remains intact.
