Description

The gatepiers, dating from the early 19th century, are located at the former entrance to Nynehead Court, which was designed in the 1810s by W A Sandford and has since been abandoned. The eastern pair of gatepiers was rebuilt and relocated around 1984. They are constructed from squared and coursed local stone, featuring rusticated quoins and a moulded cornice. The western pier has a damaged flat top coping. Please note that the gate itself is not included with the gatepiers.
