Description
The Old Bailiffs Cottage is a detached cottage, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of Ham stone rubble, with stretcher bond brick on the west gable, where an adjoining cottage has been demolished. The roof is thatched, with plain goble, and features brick chimney stacks. The cottage is in a ‘T’ shape, with two storeys and three bays. It has horizontal-bar casement windows with three lights. A low doorway, leading to a boarded door set in a deep recess and reached by steps, is located to the right of the first bay. A thatched extension exists to the rear. The interior was not visible at the time of listing. It is included on the register primarily for its group value.
