Description

The Post Office is a cottage and post office built around 1750 and refronted circa 1860. It is constructed from squared and coursed local limestone and features a plain tile roof with coped verges and rendered end stacks. The building is rectangular and designed in a classical style, standing two stories high with three bays. It has 12-pane sash windows set in reveals with segmental heads, which include rubbed voussoirs and a prominent stone keystone. The central gabled porch has a semi-circular headed outer door opening, adorned with an elaborately carved bargeboard. Inside, there is a six-panelled inner door, with the top two panels being glazed.
