Description
The Donne Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 12 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Michael. It dates from the 18th century and is made of Ham stone. The base is buried, and the tomb features wave-mould panels on each end and each side, with fluted panels on the flanks. It has a shallow hipped top with rounded leading edges. The monument commemorates Thannlin Done, the wife of John Donne, who died in 1779, as well as others.
