Description
Farmhouse. Built in the early 19th century and enlarged in the mid-19th century. The main farmhouse has roughcast rendering over rubble walls, a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves and plastered soffit boards, and brick stacks rising from the eaves on the left and right, and to the left of the entrance. A rear addition is constructed of red sandstone random rubble with brick dressings, a gabled slate roof, overhanging eaves with wooden brackets, and brick stacks on the gable ends. The plan divides the farmhouse into a 3x3 cell layout, arranged around an east-west axial corridor. There’s a two-story, single-bay projection on the west elevation. The front features 16-pane sash windows, a central double door that is partially glazed, and a rectangular light above a hipped slate roof porch supported by painted brick plinths and wooden supports. A single-story service wing is attached to the rear, and includes a blocked fireplace, possibly a former laundry.
