Description
The building is a barn and store located adjacent to the roadside at Priory Farm, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, featuring double-Roman and plain-tiled roofs, with some stone tiles at the eaves. At the apex of each gable, there is a base for a ball finial, with one gable actually having a ball finial. The structure is L-shaped and has two storeys, with a road frontage that includes 1:2 bays and six window openings under wooden lintels. One lintel has been replaced with concrete, two openings are blocked, and two have inserted 20th-century brick latticework. There is one open window and one with paired plank doors, with the door opening on the left framed in wood architrave. Inside, there is a divided plank floor with iron strap hinges. The barn extends at right angles to the left return, featuring narrow intermediate ashlar piers and full-height weatherboarding set between them. This building forms a good ensemble within its setting.
