Description
Bournstream and the adjoining outbuilding to the west are a house and attached coach house from the early 19th century. The building is roughcast over rubble with a plinth and features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves. The soffit board has paired shallow brackets, and there are brick stacks rising from the eaves on the returns.
The plan consists of a double pile flanked by approximately 5 meters of wall, with a blind semi-circular head niche on the left and a doorway leading to the coach house on the right, which projects forward. The structure has two storeys and three bays, with the central bay breaking forward. The first floor has 20-pane sash windows, while the ground floor features 25-pane sash windows. There is a central semi-circular headed opening with paired wooden columns supporting a wooden arch, leading up two steps to a recessed semi-circular headed doorway that includes a fanlight and double half-glazed doors with marginal glazing bars.
The coach house is two storeys high and consists of one bay, featuring 2-light unglazed windows above a depressed archway and double doors. This building has a fine doorcase and makes an imposing presence in the square.
