Description
No. 71 on High Street is a two-storey building with a three-window roughcast front, dating from around 1820 or 1830. It displays influences of the Greek Revival style, featuring wide eaves supported by brackets and a central gable with a pediment. The building has end pilasters and a prominent doorway adorned with fluted Tuscan columns and matching pilasters. Above the doorway is a rectangular fanlight with diagonal glazing bars. The side facing the churchyard also has a three-window arrangement with similar pilaster detailing. No. 71 is part of a group that includes the Church of St John the Baptist and the gatepiers and gates at the churchyard entrance.
