Description

No. 43 High Street is a three-storey building constructed from dark red brick, featuring brick strings. It has one window on each storey, with stepped voussoir lintels, sash windows, and glazing bars. The building boasts a very fine late 18th-century doorcase, which includes fluted pilasters, a lead fanlight, medallions on the frieze, and a pediment. The original door is a six-panelled design, and the reveals are panelled. Additionally, there are unusual iron railings. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 41 to 47 (odd) and the gatepiers of No. 47, as well as Nos. 49 to 55 (odd).
