Description
The Woolpack is an inn that dates back to the 16th century but was rebuilt in the late 18th century. It features random rubble construction with dressed quoins and a hipped triple-Roman tile roof, along with four brick stacks. The building has an irregular facade and stands two storeys high, with a layout of 1:5:1 bays. The windows are sash style with glazing bars set in bead moulded stone surrounds. The outer windows are paired with a stone dividing mullion, except for a three-light casement window on the right side of the ground floor. The centre of the ground floor has triple sash windows in a similar style.
There is a central door opening framed by a bead moulded and chamfered stone surround, featuring paired three-panelled doors and a flat wooden hood supported by wrought iron brackets. A decoratively scrolled wrought iron bracket on the right corner holds a painted 20th-century signboard. The right return of the building has three bays facing Church Hill, predominantly featuring sash windows in bead moulded stone surrounds, with paired windows on the first floor. Inside, the left ground floor room has a chamfered and stopped ceiling beam.
