Description
Red House is a house located on Barugh Lane, dating from the early 19th century with later alterations and an extension. It is constructed of red brick in English garden wall bond, topped with a pantile roof. The building features a central-entry plan and is two stories high with a three-window front flanked by bays, one of which is blank and has stepped parapets. A 20th-century part-glazed door is set in a gabled porch, and above it is a round-arched, radial-glazed sash window with a painted archivolt. The other windows are 16-pane sashes with painted wedge lintels and painted stone sills. The house has coped gables and shaped kneelers, with end stacks. Garage doors have been inserted into the right flanking bay.
