Description
West Flotmanby Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, although it has earlier origins. The building is constructed of chalk faced with brick and stucco, topped with a pantile roof and featuring brick and rendered stacks. It has a central stairhall plan and is one room deep, with a double range of service accommodation at the rear. The farmhouse is two-storey and has a symmetrical two-window front. The central entrance consists of a 6-panel door that is part-glazed and recessed, with panelled reveals and a bordered overlight, all enclosed within a glazed porch. The windows are 12-pane sashes with stone sills and keyblocks. There is a stepped and dentilled eaves course. The right return front features a part-glazed porch with a dentilled cornice, which is a 20th-century addition and not of special interest.
