Description

The coach house attached to Gristhorpe Hall is an early 19th-century structure located on the south side of Gristhorpe Main Street. It is built of coursed sandstone and has been whitewashed, with a pantile roof. The building is one and a half storeys tall and features chamfered quoins. The gable end facing the street has double doors set in a chamfered quoined opening, which is topped by an elliptical arch made of chamfered voussoirs. There are 20th-century garage doors that have been inserted into the return front to the right. The coped gable end adds to its architectural interest. This coach house is included for its group value with Gristhorpe Hall.
