Description
A group of a font and two cross bases with shafts is located approximately 5 metres to the south-west of the porch of the Church of St. Wilfrid. The font dates from the 17th century, while the crosses are probably late medieval. The font is made of stone and features ashlar construction. It has a circular two-piece column that supports a bowl with a moulded base and a flat, projecting rim. Each cross has a square-section chamfered base. The southern cross has a truncated rectangular-section shaft with grooves created from implement-sharpening, while the northern cross has a similar shaft topped with a circular cross-head.
