Description
Spinney Croft is a house dating from around 1800, constructed of coursed squared gritstone with a pantile roof featuring stone slate eaves. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a single-storey lean-to outshut on the right side. It has quoins and a central six-panel door set in a plain doorframe. The flanking and first-floor windows are fitted with 20th-century casements. The side bays contain three-light windows, while the central first-floor window has two lights. All openings are topped with flat arches made of voussoirs. The house features shaped kneelers, gable copings, and brick stacks at the ends. The lean-to has a small window and gable coping with a turned-back kneeler. Although the interior was not inspected during the resurvey, it has been reported to have a Georgian layout, including a narrow entrance hall with stairs opposite the door, two ground-floor living rooms, and services that were originally in the lean-to, which was added by 1840.
