Description
The Friends' School East Central Building is a house that has been incorporated into a school, dating from around 1800. It is constructed of coursed squared tooled stone and features a plinth, alternating quoins, and a moulded eaves cornice. The roof is made of graduated Lakeland slate and includes stone stacks. The building has three storeys and an attic, with five bays. A central Roman Doric porch, which is distyle in antis, is accessed by four steps. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, with the second floor windows being shorter. There are three added stone-coped attic gables with kneelers and end chimneys. The rear elevation includes a central Venetian stair window.
