Description
Numbers 6 and 8, also known as the Lodge to Friends' School, is a row of cottages that have been altered to serve as a lodge. The building dates from the 18th century or early 19th century and is constructed from coursed squared tooled sandstone. It features a Welsh slate roof with stone trim and a brick stack. The structure is two storeys high and has six irregularly placed windows, which include Yorkshire sashes with glazing bars, except for two later 19th-century sashes. The entrance is located at the right rear, accessed through a stone arch in the wall that continues with the right return. It has a four-panel door in a plain surround and a small outshut above on the first floor. The building is adorned with stone gable copings and has one ridge stack, along with a small round window in the left return.
