Description

This is a late 18th-century corner building at 15 St Mary's Street, also incorporating No. 107 Longwestgate. It is two storeys and has a basement, constructed of red brick with stone quoins. A modern eaves band replaces the original parapet, and the gable end is covered with old pantiles. The front facing St Mary’s Street has four window bays with recessed sash windows; the glazing bars remain intact, and the windows are topped with flat stucco arches. The front door consists of six fielded panels, above a semi-circular fanlight with a Gothic glazing pattern. The door is set within a doorcase featuring panelled pilasters, thin reeded scroll brackets, a broken entablature, and an open pediment. A small, mid-19th century shop front with a partly glazed door is positioned to the right. There are two basement windows and a low door to the left. The front facing Longwestgate has a modernised former shop window, a single recessed sash window with glazing bars, a modern door, and a fixed glazing bar window on the first floor. No. 15 forms a group with Nos. 101 and 107 (odd) Longwestgate.
