Description
The garden walls of Minster House, dating from around 1720 to 1730, are constructed of limestone with sandstone coping. They feature two quadrants that flank a gateway, which is marked by gate piers made of sandstone ashlar. These piers have rusticated moulded cornices and ball finials. A cast iron overthrow, likely from the mid-19th century, supports a contemporary lamp above the gateway. Additionally, there are cast iron railings positioned just outside the gate piers. The walls extend from the west front of Ripon Cathedral to the garden of the Old Hall on High St Agnes Gate.
