Description
The coachhouse to Minster House is a late 18th-century building, not depicted in the Hearne/Bartolizzi "View of Ripon Minster" from 1799, but mentioned in a 1797 advertisement. It is constructed of pink brick and features a slate roof. The structure has four bays, with the two central bays being one storey high and the end bays rising to two storeys, each capped with pyramidal roofs. The building includes ashlar imposts and sill bands, as well as Diocletian windows that have wooden mullions and sashes with glazing bars. The windows in the central bays serve as fanlights above two coach doors, while the ground floor windows in the end bays are set within slightly recessed panels, accompanied by doors featuring six moulded panels.
